  3. Does anyone besides me hate having to choose the color for a new
  4. Stickies note from a black & white menu? These three resources
  5. will make your Stickies Color menu look much nicer.

  8. Requirements
  9. ------------
  10. You must be running System 7.5 and have installed the Stickies
  11. application. This patch is provided as a do-it-yourself patch,
  12. so you must also have a copy of ResEdit (the latest version is
  13. 2.1.3 as of Fri, 24 Mar, 1995) or equivalent resource editor.

  16. Contents of Stickies Color menu.rsrc
  17. ------------------------------------
  18. 'ICON' #300
  19. This icon will show up in the Color menu to give you some idea of
  20. how the note's color will look.
  21.  
  22. 'mctb' #132
  23. This menu color table resource is used to color the menu items
  24. with the same color as the notes.
  25.  
  26. 'MENU' #132
  27. This is a replacement 'MENU' resource that will display the
  28. swatch of color as well as add the Command key combinations
  29. Cmd-1 thru Cmd-7 to choose a color.

  32. Installation
  33. ------------
  34. All the usual ResEdit disclaimers apply: only perform this patch
  35. on a copy of Stickies (one that is not currently running).
  36.  
  37. Note: I am not trying to be condescending in my explicit
  38.       instructions--I am simply trying to be as clear as possible.
  39.  
  40. 1. Open the Stickies application with ResEdit, as well as the
  41.    enclosed Stickies Color menu.rsrc document.
  42. 2. Choose Window:Stickies Color menu.rsrc
  43. 3.        Edit:Select All
  44. 4.        Edit:Copy
  45. 5.        Window:Stickies
  46. 6.        Edit:Paste (when it asks you to replace the resources
  47.                       with the same ID, click Yes--the only
  48.                       resource being replaced is the 'MENU' #132)
  49. 7.        File:Save
  50. 8.        File:Quit

  53. You're done! Open Stickies to view your handiwork.
